A few articles ago, I talked about my path and about my own tribe. Someone asks me how to build it. So, let’s talk about it. My tribe began a long time with the connections I made. It never left me. I made sure I remembered what they told me. As the time moved one, it grew from there. My connections never stop, they just keep growing.
I know that people are getting busy, and I understand this world so much. How I keep on building my tribe is to remember them. Send an e-mail, a social “Aloha” here and then. Mainly it was a check-in. Individuals don’t realize how important check-ins are. To be honest, they are not hard to do. You can always send them art, funny doodle or special quote. Moments mean most because you took the time to remember them.
So the next time you want to build your tribe, start with a few comments that I mentioned above, this will not happen overnight. You don’t force connections, they must occur naturally. That is the best way to build your own tribe. Ask them that stunning question, not only that general statement “How are you doing?” How about…. “I bet you’ve done something exciting for yourself last weekend, I’m dying to hear about it.” Again, do you see the difference? You are taking an absolute interest. Your tribe is like plants, you have to water them, so they can grow. It is the same thing as building your own tribe.
I dare you to go out and make a connection with someone. This person could be a new person or maybe someone you have not talked to in 3–6 months. Ask them that one question I gave you. Remember, it’s not what you get out of it, but you’re building a bond with that person. I bet you will make that person smile, and for that, it’s all worth it.
Believe accessibility is everything!
