The last two weeks in February were astonishing. I was at the LDA conference about a week ago, and just this morning I did a workshop online for the World of IA with the Los Angeles Chapter. In both conferences, there was a lasting theme I was observing. We go to conferences and learn and get tips on bit size. Which are excellent. We have our notes and some we glance at them and sometimes we do not use them or forget them.
Maybe we’re too tired or maybe we’re starting to burn. Well, every reason. If we do not plan to take action, nothing will change. All the time you spend attending this conference meeting new people are wasted, and for what? I could get heckled here and that’s okay. What I’m getting at is don’t let this connection disappear. Make the most of this moment. If you have heard a talker or read an article. Contact them… why not! Don’t be afraid to reach out. If you don’t aim, then you only stay in one place. I get significant questions on how and why.
I can tell you it won’t happen overnight, it takes work and it takes time. Only as you lose weight or become remarkable in your ball handling skills (as an example), my ball-handling skills are OK. Now, if we talk about volleyball yeah not that is a different story. We expect things to happen quickly, or we look at other people and think or judge their own lives. All goes in steps. There is an order on everyone’s journey, and yes, I speak to you.
More to come on the two conferences I only attended at the end of February. I have many thoughts and comments on what I learn.
The remarkable thing before everything was the lockout. I was at the World IA conference in LA and met so many remarkable people with whom I am in touch today. If you’re interested in last year’s talk.
What you do now and what you do in the future are the measures that will set you apart. So don’t wait. Heck, I’m not….
Believe accessibility is everything!
