What Does Your Watch Say?

Funny how things sometimes work, we look at our watches so often. Last week, I didn’t wear my Apple Watch, yes, I did. Why you might ask. I’m dunno, I just thought about how I would feel. It felt strange, and I wanted to put it on for that week. I did not. I glanced at my wrist a lot and reminded myself that I didn’t have it at all. Was time really something that has made me do what I wanted to do? Having a reminder about things I was missing.

This is a clock on the wall.

What I can tell you is that it wasn’t much on social media to have on my watch. I didn’t have my notifications, so I didn’t have any reminders. But on the other hand, I missed my task during the day. So if I didn’t have my watch on, I wrote down what I thought was on my list. Yes, the good old fashion pen and paper.

Another career change asks me how to keep my time in order, of course I mention my watch. Then I thought, how did I keep my time even before the smart watch came out? It was a datebook with small boxes with numbers per month. As a child, I remember keeping track of everything from school work to sports. I called a date book, but it was also called a planner. There were all types of planners, from flowers, one to binders that you could refill. I like the one empty so I could start at any part of the year. I was always going to start one in mid-year.

We have our smart phones and watches, but do we still use date planners? Maybe a few individuals do. The thought of actually trying to write something down is amazing to me. To think something will be in a permanent marker or on paper. Well whatever choice you make to keep track of your time. Make your time matter, because I know it goes way too fast!
