There are moments when you feel your mind is cluttered, and so much going on can be difficult to figure out what the next step should be. It can feel awkward to make decisions on where our focus needs to go if everything is going well, but also has its downsides of being too stressed with little sleep, which may not even help us evaluate the situation better, since making wise choices under stress isn’t always possible anyways! Many people feel that getting more than 8 hours of sleep is important. However, when we try our best to get the recommended amount of rest for a healthy lifestyle, sometimes things just don’t go as planned. Can you run yourself down if you’re not taking care of your body?
It’s challenging to get enough sleep if you are stressed about something out of your control. That conversation in the back of your mind plays “what-if” games with yourself, and this can be dangerous, as it impacts how well we think.
It’s often hard to get a good night’s rest when we’re worried or anxious about things outside our realm — a phenomenon I like to call “worrying about nothing.” The problem starts from within, because worry leads us down mental paths where everything seems worse than it is. Therein lies danger: worrying makes thinking more difficult by hijacking one part of the brain (the prefrontal cortex), while another region shuts off entirely!
After a stressful event, we can become re-energized by talking to our tribes. They can help us clear up some of that mental fuzziness and get back on track. The experience of stress often leaves you feeling fuzzyheaded or unclear about what’s going on. The best way out is through — talk with your tribe for clarity!
No matter what you do, it is important to have a clear head. Sometimes our thoughts are so busy and confused we can’t even think straight or make the right decisions for ourselves. But if you take some time out of your day to relax and reflect on life’s ups-and-downs (or simply plan them), then everything will fall into place!
Having more clarity in one’s mind provides tremendous benefits for every circumstance. Being able to enjoy whatever task at hand without confusion helps people flourish creatively while simultaneously achieving their personal goals, including settling down with family/friends — whatever these may be. Do what you do best is just being you, and remember to talk to someone if you need to.
Believe accessibility is everything!
